Academic and English requirements

IELTS Academic, PTE Academic and TOEFL iBT are commonly accepted. Universities set their own minimum scores; English requirements for the visa are set separately by the Department of Home Affairs.

Entry requirements are set by each institution and course. There is no single score that guarantees admission. Need to book a test? See IELTS/TOEFL registration assistance.

Application steps

  1. Shortlist courses and check entry requirements
  2. Apply to your chosen institution
  3. Receive and accept your offer letter
  4. Pay the tuition deposit and arrange Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  5. Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
  6. Apply for a Student visa (subclass 500)

Intakes: February and July are the main intakes; some institutions offer additional start dates.

Finding scholarships

Universities offer international scholarships, often as tuition reductions based on academic merit, and the Australian Government runs schemes such as Australia Awards for eligible countries. Check current eligibility for Bangladeshi applicants on official pages.
